The Ai on Japan Golf Tournament & Banquet was held on Friday, September 6, 2013. The HJCC recruited a total of 28 volunteers to assist with manning par three holes, special contests, food and beverage carts and setting up and checking in guests at the awards banquet.

Jesse Kuhaulua (formerly Takamiyama, professional sumo wrestler) paid a courtesy visit with Carole Hayashino, President/Executive Director, Japanese Cultural Center and Wayne Miyao, Past President of the Chamber. Jesse was the first foreign born to win a Grand Sumo tournament.

On September 4, 2013, the HJCC welcomed back the Hawaii Health Connector’s Executive Director, Coral Andrews, for a much anticipated follow-up presentation. Building upon the information presented in February to the Chamber, Andrews spoke to nearly 75 attendees all eager to learn more about how this online insurance marketplace could benefit their businesses and clients.
