On Friday, March 29th, 2019, a full group of 40 Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce Members and their guests enjoyed a four-course dinner at An Elegant Culinary Journey 2019, prepared by the Kapiolani Community College American Culinary Federation (ACF) Student Team Competition Group at the KCC Campus, Tamarind Restaurant.

Organized by Past HJCC President Sharon Narimatsu, the dinner supported the Culinary Arts Department, and showcased the KCC team’s menu for this year’s ACF Student Team Competition. The team placed second in the Western Region, and is currently the Wild Card leader in advancing to the National Competition to take place in early August in Orlando, FL.

Mahalo to the KCC Culinary Arts Program for hosting the HJCC, including coaches Chef David Brown, Chef Jason Peel, and Chef Alan Tsuchiyama, Master Sommelier Patrick Okubo for his careful selection and explanations of matching wines for each course, and to Sharon Narimatsu for organizing the dinner!
