We are an organization founded for the promotion of business and economic growth in Hawaii based upon the principle, “Members Supporting Members.”

The organization provides leadership and programs which promote membership interaction, resulting in growth and the continuation of its legacy.

We continue creating opportunities since 1900 to promote fostering friendships, connecting “B2B” (business-to-business), and mālama ka ‘āina (‘caring for the land’).

Networking, simply speaking, is one of the tools that almost every business person aspires to master, but is typically feared or avoided by many. However, before the attendees of the Networking 101 event could face their fears and the challenges of networking, they had to brave torrential rain, a flash flood warning, and the occasional moat to jump over or traverse through.

In great spirits and with soaked umbrellas, the Membership Development Committee (“MDC”) presented the Networking 101 event on August 26, 2015 at Hukilau, Honolulu. Guest Speaker, Dennis Higashiguchi, Senior Manager of the Consulting Division at N&K CPAs, Inc. presented the fundamentals of networking in order to improve your ability to “work a room”. This was much more than your average networking seminar. Mr. Higashiguchi clearly defined the “who, what, when, where, and how” to network, the Golden Rule of Networking, and practical steps to do before, during, and after networking a room, which were all supported by interesting and valuable facts, anecdotes, and lessons. The night ended with open networking and everyone ready to put their newly learned networking skills to practice.

Thank you to Dennis Higashiguchi and all the attendees, donors, and organizers for making the Networking 101 event a success.
