Introducing a Fundraising Opportunity for the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce Charitable Corporation! Donate up to $249 through Foodland’s Give Aloha Program
The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce established the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce Charitable Corporation [HJCC-CC] a 501c(3) nonprofit organization in 2001 exclusively for charitable scientific, literary, religious and educational purposes. In the past we have funded projects and events in support of the Izumo Taishakyo Mission of Hawaii, Japan-America Society of Hawaii, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, the Moiliili Community Center and the Hawaii for Hiroshima fundraiser.
WHAT DOES THE HJCC-CHARITABLE CORPORATION DO?
MOILIILI TRIANGLE PARK TORII GATE MAINTENANCE
In 2000, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the HJCC, a half-sized replica of the Vermillion Grand Torii Gate, which stands at Itsukushima Shrine in Japan, was presented to Hawaii by the Hiroshima Prefecture and the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In 2008, in partnership with the City & County of Honolulu’s Adopt-a-Sculpture Program, the HJCC-CC adopted the Torii Gate, literally making the HJCC-CC the “gatekeepers” in support of the HJCC’s mission to promote business, goodwill and cultural exchange between Hawaii and Japan.
COMMUNITY FUND
In 2016, the HJCC-CC formally created a Community Fund to consider donations for initiatives aligned with our objectives. We previously donated to the Hawaii for Hiroshima fundraiser to benefit the victims of the Hiroshima flooding in 2018.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In 2019, we established a scholarship fund. Recognizing the importance of supporting future generations in their pursuit of higher education goals and in broadening their perspectives. Financial support, will contribute towards a capable workforce in Hawaii and to compassionate/caring citizens.
We also encourage you to reach out to friends and family for their contributions to assist this effort.
Thank you for your participation, and if you have any questions, please feel free to
