Celebrating 45 Years of Friendship with the Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry
HJCC was honored to recently welcome a delegation from the Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Honolulu as we commemorated the 45th anniversary of our Affiliate Chamber relationship.
Thirteen delegates from Fukui joined us for several memorable events celebrating a relationship that has grown through decades of friendship, business exchange, and mutual respect between our two chambers. The delegation proudly shared that they were visiting Hawaii from the “Kingdom of Dinosaurs,” a fitting nickname for Fukui, which is renowned for its rich dinosaur heritage. The lighthearted introduction brought a special touch of Fukui to Hawaii and set the tone for a warm and memorable visit.

The delegation began their visit by attending HJCC’s Inauguration, Member Recognition and Generational Award Celebration, joining our members and community as we installed HJCC's new Chair of the Board Kaiulani Shinsato and newly elected Board of Directors, congratulated member recognitions and awards, and recognized Finance Enterprises Family of Companies as the 2026 Generational Award recipient.
The following day brought another opportunity to deepen the friendships between our chambers. Members of the Fukui delegation enjoyed a round of golf with HJCC directors and members, providing a relaxed setting to reconnect, build new relationships, and enjoy Hawaii’s hospitality.
The visit culminated with a special dinner reception at the Honolulu Country Club, where representatives from both chambers gathered to celebrate this important milestone. During the evening, HJCC and the Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry exchanged commemorative gifts in recognition of 45 years of partnership and friendship.

For nearly half a century, our Affiliate Chamber relationship has created opportunities to foster meaningful connections between Hawaii and Fukui. While much has changed over the past 45 years, the spirit behind this relationship remains strong: bringing people together, encouraging exchange, and building friendships that extend beyond business.
We are deeply grateful to the 13 delegates who traveled from the “Kingdom of Dinosaurs” to celebrate this milestone with us, as well as to our HJCC directors and members who helped make their visit so memorable.
Mahalo to the Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 45 years of friendship and partnership. We look forward to continuing this special relationship for many years—and generations—to come.
