Mentorship Program
The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) Mentorship Program, launched in July 2024, is designed to foster meaningful connections between members through knowledge sharing, professional guidance, and mutual growth.
The program provides mentees with valuable opportunities to engage with experienced mentors, gaining insights, skills, and historical perspectives that support both personal and professional development. At the same time, it emphasizes reciprocal mentoring - recognizing that both mentors and mentees contribute to and benefit from the exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives across generations and disciplines.
By strengthening relationships and encouraging collaboration, the program enhances the overall member experience and supports HJCC’s commitment to delivering tangible value. It plays a key role in retaining current members while attracting new individual and corporate participants.
Rooted in HJCC’s guiding principle of “Members Supporting Members” and its focus on fostering business-to-business connections, the Mentorship Program reflects longstanding organizational priorities. Mentorship is also highlighted in HJCC’s Strategic Plans and Board Performance Guidelines, and is embedded in its mission as a core organizational mindset—promoting the continuous sharing of knowledge and experiences throughout the community.
