Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) Chair of the Board Jon Tsukamoto selected Derek Kaneshiro (Vice President, ATM Product Manager, Central Pacific Bank) as the Outstanding Member of the Year for FY 2019-2020.
A presentation award was made by Chair Tsukamoto at the recently held General Membership Gathering event. It marked the 50th year HJCC honored a member. The selection is based on overall activity, participation and leadership qualities.
Kaneshiro has been a member of the HJCC for five years. He is the Standing Committee Chair for the Small Business Advocacy and also is a member of the Board of Directors. "Derek exemplifies a member with outstanding leadership and group dynamic skills," stated Chair Tsukamoto. In his acceptance speec, Derek stated that he "accepts this award on behalf of his committee members who continue to generate the various successful workshops geared to Small Business". He also thanked his family and company for allowing him to be very active in the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
