2024 Inauguration, Member Recognition & Generational Awards Celebration
Over 350+ HJCC Members and friends offered congratulations to the new Chair of the Board Marc Nakamoto and the newly elected officers and directors at the Inauguration, Member Recognition and Generational Awards Celebration at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
The event, emceed by Brigette Namata of KHON2 News, honored Outstanding Member of the Year, Dean Yoneshige, "Kuroko - Behind the Scenes" Awards to Brandon Miyagi and Jenna Nakagawa, and the Generational Award to Aloha Shoyu Company.
The evening's festivities began with a kanpai toast by Consul General of Japan in Honolulu, Mr. Yoshinori Kodama. Immediate Past Chair Kristi Inkinen Yanagihara thanked her administration, committee members, volunteers, and the HJCC Staff for their efforts in making FY 2023-2024 a success. She presented the Outstanding Member and Kuroko Awards for their significant contributions and support to the Chamber's various events this past year under her leadership. Brian Tanigawa, President of Aloha Shoyu Company, accepted the Generational Award on behalf of the company and HJCC Member company JN Productions produced another wonderful video honoring the Generational Award recipient.
Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke installed Marc Nakamoto as the new Chair of the HJCC Board for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Click HERE to read Chair Marc's message.
Closing the evening's program was Toshimune Kanaya, Chief Executive Officer of Hokoku Kyogo in Hiroshima, Japan.
